The printed areas blister during passing through the dryer in web offset printing.


Slow drying ink.








Replace with the low-temperature drying ink and lower the dryer temperature.

Lower the dryer temperature in order to keep the balance with ink drying.(In case of combination dryer, turn down the gas flame and increase the hot air.)

Reduce the thickness of ink film with UCR.(undercolor removal.)

Reduce ink feed.

Reduce the r.p.m.(revolutions per minute) and lower the dryer temperature.

Control the distribution of dampening water to promote ink drying and lower the dryer temperature.


Blistering may occur in coated paper with heavy weight.

Replace with paper with blister resistance.



Too high temperature of dryer.

Blistering occurs frequently in solid areas overlapping on both sides of paper.

Lower the dryer temperature.
